For three generations, Olivier Hillaire and his two sons, Baptiste and Corentin, have continued the legacy of their exceptional terroir, crafting wines that are celebrated and enjoyed on some of the world’s finest tables.

Hillaire Vineyard’s elegant wines will take you on an unforgettable and alluring journey of sensory discovery.

A Family Tradition

Since 1938, the family has devoted itself to the noble craft of winegrowing, cultivating their legacy with care and passion since the end of the 19th century. It all began with great-grandfather Armand, who planted the vineyard’s original rows of grapevines. They’ve now been thriving for over a century. His son Henri joined him in 1948, leaving the vineyard to his children and grandchildren.

To honor his esteemed ancestor, Olivier Hillaire crafted “Les Petits Pieds d’Armand”, an extraordinary cuvée.

The Hillaire family has lovingly passed down the arts of winegrowing and blending through the generations.

In 2006, Olivier Hillaire took over a portion of the Domaine des Relagnes vineyards, originally owned by the grandfather of his two sons, Baptiste and Corentin.

And thus Domaine Olivier Hillaire was born.

Baptiste and Corentin, winegrowers by heritage and passion, joined their father Olivier with a steadfast commitment to expand the family business. They also endeavor to honor the traditions that have defined their legacy and driven the success of their wines.

In 2020, the pair took on the renowned Clos Saint Pierre, establishing the Hillaire Vineyard and marking the beginning of a new chapter in their family history.

An Exceptional Terroir

Hillaire Vinyard owes its magic to the incredible terroir of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. Its plots, which span Avignon to Orange, are bathed in sunlight and gently caressed by the mistral winds.

The grapevines thrive amidst the area’s legendary stones and sandy loam, benefiting greatly from the diversity of the soil. This contributes to the wines’ rich and complex nature.

From these ancestral traditions emerge vintages radiant with rich aromas, character, and an uncommon ability to withstand the test of time.

The Châteauneuf-du-Pape Appellation

Established in 1936, Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of France’s first Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée (A.O.C.). The vineyard covers more than 7,800 acres between Avignon and Orange, in the heights above the Comtat Venaissin plain.

In addition to the diversity of its thirteen grape varieties, the appellation is primarily defined by the remarkable diversity of its soils. A limestone terroir in the east yields generous, aromatic, delightfully fresh whites. In the south and west, clay, sand, and rolled pebbles produce hearty, rounded, and structured reds that beautifully embody the appellation’s style.
